Corolla the popular passenger car
Toyota Motor Thailand Co. Ltd. first introduced the first generation Corolla in Thailand in 1966 and the second generation in 1970. While the first two generations were imported from Japan, the third generation launched in 1974 was assembled in Thailand for the first time at the Samrong plant in Samut Prakarn province.

Mr. Kyoichi Tanada, President of Toyota Motor Thailand Co. Ltd., said, “The new Corolla Altis is one of the most important models for Toyota that was first introduced in Thailand 44 years ago and is one model that has received strong support from customer to become Thailand’s ‘most popular passenger car’ with accumulated sales of 520,000 units. Worldwide sales of the Corolla has more than 36 million units, and this sales success shows that it is well-accepted by both Thai and foreign customers whether in terms of quality and value.

Engine – Beyond the Definition of Power
New intelligent Dual VVT-i power plant with variable valve timing that adjusts the right amount of air fed into the combustion chamber through the inlet valves to ensure complete combustion at every engine speed. The opening and closing of the outlet valves are also adjusted continuously to ensure efficient exhaust release. All this combine to allow the engine of the Corolla Altis to work efficiently resulting in outstanding acceleration, fuel economy and low emission level (Euro 4 standard).
